CONVERSATION WITH VISA OFFICER
Me: Good morning, officer! How are you?
VO: Good morning (smiling). Pass me your I-20 and passport.
Me: Sure, Officer! Here they are.
Actually Officer I want to add that I have a scholarship of $47,400 per year. But it is not included in my I-20, so my admissions officer advised me to show you my award letter. If you want, you can... (I was looking down and finding my award letter... But it was not with my offer letter)
VO: You’ve already passed it.
Me: Oh, I see (with a foolish smile😅 and relieved)
He was looking at my award letter thoroughly for 2–3 seconds.
VO: What made you choose this university?
Me: Well, officer Drexel has offered me a great amount of scholarship, which will cover 80% of my tuition fees. Also, as a tech-forward institution, it will complement my interest in computer science with its comprehensive CS curriculum. Moreover, its strong co-op programme has made it unique to me, along with research opportunities. Because I will have practical carrier experience during my studies.(Was nodding frequently while looking at me and sometimes looking at the computer.)
VO: Why do you need to attend this program (was a bit confused - if I haven’t taken any EPT for money🙃)
Me: I told my admissions officer that I wanted to send a score, but she told me they were unable to update any score right now. That's why I need to attend the program.
VO: Can you give me your award letter again?
Me: Sure, Officer.
VO: Who is your sponsor?
Me: Both of my parents will pay the rest of the amount, and they already have a savings of 109k US dollars for my education. (He was frequently looking at me while checking the award letter)
VO: What do they do?
Me: Officer, My father is an X of Y bank. Also, he is an investor and landlord... On the other hand, my mother, runs a Z....(he was typing something) (4-5 sec pause).
VO: Have you taken English classes (or something like this... I was confused because he was away from the mic)
Me: No No Officer! I am from bangla medium.
VO: No. (Nodded head and pulled the mic) Have you taken any English tests?
Me: Yes, Officer! I have taken the IELTS and Duolingo tests. (Give my award letter back and start typing and looking at the screen for 4-5 seconds.)
VO: How many employees does your mother's Z have?
Me: There are a total of 14 workers. 10 are permanent, and 4 are part-time workers.(Intense typing for 10–15 seconds. I was looking at his keyboard. Then he kept my passport in the box behind him.)
VO: I approved your visa. (Then he passed me a blue leaflet and the I-20)
Me: Thank you, Sir. (I felt quite normal and was taking my I-20 and blue leaflet.)
VO: Welcome and good luck for your studies. (Looking at me)
Me: Thanks officer. ( Smiled and Realized that I should act like others🫥)

And special thanks to Kazi Riad Mehmud. Your influence was a crucial part of my journey to make everything perfect.
I would say just be specific and pray tahajjud.
In sha allah everything will be fine.
