UNPOPULAR OPINION.

If you have to write your own LOR, I WOULD HIGHLY SUGGEST TO PLEASE start early…. you will thank me later.

it’s the most mentally challenging and frustrating thing about the US application.

“Why? How? Lor to easy.” If you think this, you’re dumb and naive. Let me elaborate.

It looks easy on the surface, but you’re writing 4-5 letters that the admission officers think are from different people. People with different educational background, different career, different characteristic.

The admission officers are the detectives of applications, and they can determine if you have written your own LOR just by reading the first paragraph. Trust me bhai Sherlock Holmes er chokhe dhula dite parba but oder chokhe parbana. They have been reading LORs and essays for decades.
Oder theke bachar jonno you MUST make sure tomar prottek ta LOR ekta arektar theke completely different hoy. Emon ki same punctuation and grammar mistake dui LOR e korleo ora bujhe fele je duitai ek manush lekse. Plus shobar writing ek na, ekjon onek brief hoite pare abar arekjon onek expressive hoite pare. Shob LOR jodi same pattern follow kore taileo ora bujhe fele.

It’s not easy for your brain to write four LORs from the viewpoint of four people, kothao na kothao gondogol korbai. Ar LOR 10 bar proofread korano must, to make sure there is no way of knowing if it’s you who’s writing it.

Amar duidin por deadline, ar ami ekhon bujhtesi je LOR agge na lekhe ki bhul korsi. Mathar tar chire jacche, amar shob LOR dekte ek rokom……

Edit : didn’t think I needed to specify this but LOR = LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION
